YEAR: 2020

SEASON: Summer

MONTH: July

STATE: Washington

COUNTY: Lewis County

LOCATION DETAILS: entered at NF rd. 48 and followed up as far as we could, road still snowed in because rd. shadowed from the high rocky peaks, went for a family picnic and hike.

NEAREST TOWN: Packwood and Randle

NEAREST ROAD: HWY 12

OBSERVED: Found a footprint 17″ or more along banks of Brownie creek on NF Rd. 48, [8.3] miles up the road [from 21 junction] at a culvert and bridge.

We stopped at the bridge on Brownie Creek where there was a cool turquoise icy cold pool and a culvert to explore around and check to see if any cool rocks (gold) got trapped in the ribs of the culvert inside.

While I was hiking further up creek along the sandy banks, I nearly stepped directly into what I instantly realized looked like a giant footprint at least 17″ or bigger.

ALSO NOTICED: After observing the prints and taking pictures we loaded up and continued up the mountain for lunch

OTHER WITNESSES: My Wife Ella, and my 2 children all saw the prints

OTHER STORIES: Of course I’ve heard of this area being a hot bed for Sasquatch, but I never thought to report this until now after looking through my phones older pictures. I would love to share my pictures with you all anytime.

Follow-up investigation report by BFRO Investigator Scott Taylor:

The witness and his family were camping a few miles west of Packwood. They decided to take a drive up a forest road and do some hiking and exploring. They pulled off the road and hiked down to Brownie Creek. The witness nearly stepped in the track when he saw it.

He sent three photos of the track. Two have nothing for scale. One has the witness’s footprint next to the track, or most of it. He said that he wears a size 12 shoe. I estimate that the overall length of his shoe would be about 13 inches. Using that as a scale, I calculated that the footprint was a little over 17 inches long.

The size of the track is too large to be a human. It appears to have been there a while, since it is somewhat degraded by rain.

Q: Why is there only one?

A: He only found one track, in a creek bed where the creature did not have to step in soft sand the whole way. He also had his wife and kids with him, so he couldn’t search the whole creek bed looking for a continuation of the tracks.

Don’t expect witnesses to follow the same protocols that a bigfoot field researcher would follow. Be thankful that he noticed this track and photographed it and reported it at all.
